SENIOR FACILITIES ENGINEER

About the role

This is a full-time role based in Lafayette, LA, focused on the design of process and mechanical piping systems for oil and gas related facilities.

Responsibilities

• Work both independently and alongside an engineering and design team to develop both high level and detailed designs of process and mechanical piping systems.
• Ability to lead project teams.
• Solid communications skills and ability to interact directly with clients, suppliers, and upper management.
• Report job activity and maintain detailed logs about work activities, reporting to project managers and executive management.
• Identify opportunities for improvement of work products and standards.
• Able to meet deadlines working on multiple projects and clients with minimum supervision and take some responsibility for planning and prioritizing tasks.
• Maintain a high standard of work performance and ensure that all work is in accordance with the engineering standards of the company and client.
• Occasional travel and availability to spend time at field locations to assist with scoping design requirements, as-builts, construction support, etc. In some instances, after hours or weekend work to support a project schedule, especially during construction, may be needed.
• Flexibility to occasionally travel to other PERC offices in Fort Worth, Houston, and Midland.

Requirements

• Minimum 15 years’ experience in the project and detailed engineering of upstream and/or midstream related facilities.
• Experience with sizing and selecting process equipment including oil & gas separators, scrubbers, treaters, compressors.
• Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Petroleum Engineering.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs.
• Must be able to stand, kneel, and walk for long periods of time.
• Must pass background check and be able to pass both a pre-employment & random drug test.
• Must be able to travel occasionally including overnight travel to various locations & customer sites to provide service based on business needs.
• Duties performed indoors & outdoors with exposure to weather and elements.
