About the role
We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our Boston Facades and Building Envelope team. The ideal candidate will manage projects, analyze façade performance, and coordinate with the team.
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary contact with clients.
- Manage projects and internal teams to achieve financial goals.
- Analyze façade performance with specialized software (i.e. loading, thermal analysis, condensation risk, geometry).
- Develop and review design calculations for standard and custom façade components, including strength and deflection design of glass and metals.
- Research materials and systems to determine specific project suitability.
- Interpret building codes and project/design/construction specifications.
- Prepare façade detailing in 2D and 3D format for client communication.
- Aid in construction administration, responding to RFIs, and organizing submittal logs.
- Attend construction meetings, perform site inspections, and prepare field reports for clients.
- Interact with team members and clients regarding project information.
- Coordinate with design architects, structural engineers, conservators, testing labs, owners, owner representatives, and contractors.
- Contribute to TT’s leadership by facilitating clear communications and guidance among team leaders and promoting professional relationships internally and externally.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of relevant experience, including previous progressively responsible project management experience.
- Professional Engineer and/or SE License.
- Advanced knowledge of facade practices, background in structural design/calculations, strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to build quick rapport with all levels of employees and clients.
- Proven ability in problem identification, problem solving, and conflict resolution.
Qualifications
- Ability and willingness to travel within the US and internationally.
Skills
- Strong technical skills in building envelope design and analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with building codes and construction specifications.
