Senior Fabricator

About the role

At Jered LLC, a PAR Systems Company, Senior Fabricators play a crucial role in our mission to deliver mission-critical components to exacting MILSPEC standards. This position is located in Portsmouth, VA.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, fit, and weld intricate steel structures using advanced welding techniques such as GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, and SAW.
• Mentor junior fabricators, sharing expertise and best practices.
• Work in a high-output manufacturing environment, prioritizing precision, collaboration, and adaptability.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings and ensure compliance with MILSPEC standards.
• Pass advanced weld qualification tests, including 6G pipe, and maintain certifications in multiple weld processes.
• Oversee equipment troubleshooting and maintenance to ensure smooth production.
• Manage and mentor a team of fabricators, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 5+ years of advanced welding experience in a heavy industrial environment
• Current certifications in GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW
• Proficient in reading engineering drawings and welding symbols
• Experience with MILSPEC-level fabrication
• Able to pass advanced weld qualification tests, including 6G pipe
• Proficient with forklifts, cranes, precision measurement tools, and GD&T
• U.S. person preference

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical school diploma or advanced fabrication certifications
• SAW welding and setup experience
• Master Rigger certification
• Experience with aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and nickel alloy
