About the role

The hiring organization is seeking a Senior Events Manager to join its Events function. In this role, you will lead an asset-class event portfolio across areas such as private equity, venture capital, private credit, or real assets. Working as a close partner to Sales teams, you will oversee event strategy, attendee journey design, and commercial execution, delivering experiences that deepen relationships and drive pipeline. This is a full-time position based in the United States, operating within a digital-first model that supports remote work as well as access to physical office locations.

Responsibilities

  • Own the pipeline target and overall performance for an assigned asset-class portfolio, supporting the delivery of quarterly pipeline goals.
  • Measure portfolio performance across metrics such as pipeline sourced, account progression, cost per opportunity, event ROI, target-account engagement, and post-event follow-through to inform investment decisions.
  • Partner with account executives and sales leadership to build pre-event target account lists and map events to the account progression framework.
  • Maintain portfolio scorecard and data integrity, ensuring accurate campaign records, attendee lists, lead handoffs, and post-event readouts.
  • Oversee the post-event follow-up process by monitoring SLAs, tracking actioned opportunities, and escalating stalled workflows.
  • Collaborate with Sales Operations and data teams to maintain accurate portfolio representation in the account scoring model.
  • Translate business goals and audience requirements into appropriate event formats, ranging from major conferences and sponsorships to hosted experiences and intimate executive dinners.
  • Design the complete attendee journey, curating content, hospitality, environment, branding, and flow.
  • Serve as the end-to-end event lead, managing event objectives, audience targeting, budgets, vendors, on-site execution, and post-event analysis.
  • Independently manage vendors, venues, and cross-functional collaborators while tracking budget allocations and spend variances.
  • Develop pre-event dossiers, manage on-site operations, guide handoffs, and continuously refine event playbooks.
  • Implement automations to reduce repetitive manual tasks, collaborating with IT and data teams on event-related tools.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of key industry conferences, event producers, audience dynamics, and sponsorship economics within the assigned asset class.
  • Advise Sales partners on attendee profiles, target accounts, and the business rationale for event investments.
  • Act as a strategic partner to Sales teams by proactively participating in planning cadences, evaluating event requests, and proposing alternatives when investments are not warranted.
  • Share event, account, and market insights across the broader events function.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 6+ years of experience managing B2B events, field programs, customer programs, or comparable initiatives with ownership of business outcomes.
  • Strong commercial orientation, with experience carrying or contributing to a pipeline or revenue target, or a deliberate focus on commercial accountability.
  • Demonstrated prioritization and judgment skills, including the ability to push back on low-value initiatives and recommend effective alternatives.
  • Proven track record of building collaborative relationships with account executives and sales leaders.
  • Working fluency with Salesforce, Marketo, Asana, and event management technology, with an understanding of data hygiene.
  • Demonstrated history of developing engaging event programs that deliver audience value beyond standard logistical execution.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for on-site event execution.

Preferred:

  • Professional experience in private markets, asset management, fintech, or financial services.
  • Familiarity with the private markets conference landscape and major event producers, particularly within private equity or venture capital.
  • Comfort utilizing AI tools and lightweight automation to enhance workflow efficiency.
  • Location in or near major event markets, particularly New York or San Francisco, with knowledge of the local event community.
