Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Event Center Lead to provide strategic and operational leadership for a high-profile event center in the Bay Area. This role is designed for a senior-level events professional who can independently oversee a complex event environment, drive operational excellence, and elevate the quality of service and execution across the space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary operational lead for the event center and the events hosted within the space
  • Oversee day-to-day event center management, readiness, and service delivery
  • Lead planning and execution oversight for internal and external events, ensuring a polished and high-quality event experience
  • Manage complex venue logistics, including vendor coordination, catering, security, facilities, and overall event readiness
  • Navigate permitting, approvals, compliance requirements, and external coordination as needed
  • Act as the senior escalation point for event center and event-related issues
  • Provide strategic guidance on event flow, guest experience, design decisions, and service standards
  • Partner closely with stakeholders to align on needs, priorities, expectations, and execution plans
  • Coach and elevate junior event managers, helping improve judgment, planning quality, and overall service levels
  • Identify workflow gaps and implement stronger operational processes, communication rhythms, and planning standards
  • Deliver regular executive-style updates highlighting priorities, risks, progress, and support needed
  • Ensure a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to managing ambiguity, changes, and last-minute requests

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 10+ years of experience in event management, event venue leadership, executive events, or complex corporate event environments
  • Proven experience leading high-touch, high-visibility event operations with minimal oversight
  • Strong background in venue management, complex logistics, and stakeholder-facing event delivery
  • Experience navigating permitting, venue compliance, external approvals, and operational complexity
  • Strong executive presence with excellent judgment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Demonstrated ability to coach or guide junior team members
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Service-oriented, collaborative, calm under pressure, and low ego
  • Strong understanding of premium service standards and what constitutes a polished, client-ready event experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting large enterprise organizations or complex corporate event programs
  • Experience managing event centers, executive briefing centers, or premium multi-use venues
  • Familiarity with regional venue operations and permitting processes
  • Experience balancing strategic oversight with hands-on operational leadership
  • Ability to build structure, improve processes, and elevate performance across an existing team
