Senior Estimator (Wind)
About the role
This position will lead large conceptual EPC bids, utilizing experience to develop accurate estimates. Senior Estimators report to the Director of Estimating.
Responsibilities
- Perform complete conceptual estimates for large, complex EPC projects from bid package receipt through final bid review.
- Site visits, scope determination, Material Takeoff, input data into computerized estimating systems, questions to Owner/Engineer, qualifications
- Manage bid time to ensure accurate and timely preparation of estimates
- Function as a team player, creating an environment conducive to collaboration
- Conceptualize portions of estimates and organize/detail them for easy review and efficient field application
- Train and mentor Estimator I and Estimator II teams
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of construction estimating and lead responsibilities such as site visits, RFQ requirements, and bid turnover
- Mastery of technical estimating responsibilities including lead responsibilities such as material takeoffs, drawings and specifications, manhour analysis, subcontracting, etc.
- May lead estimates as Lead Estimator on large, complex projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma plus related training or education equivalent to a Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 7 years of construction estimating experience
- Knowledge of construction techniques, estimating, and construction management
- Experience in contract negotiations, vendor/client interactions, and bid leadership
- Experience in large-scale Wind Renewable Energy projects
