Senior Estimator - Mission Critical / Data Centers

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead estimating efforts for large-scale data center and mission-critical projects throughout Texas.
  • Develop conceptual, schematic, design development, and GMP estimates.
  • Review drawings, specifications, scopes, and contract documents to identify project requirements and risks.
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop accurate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
  • Solicit, analyze, and level bids from subcontractors and vendors.
  • Develop comprehensive scopes of work and ensure complete trade coverage.
  • Lead value engineering and cost optimization exercises.
  • Maintain historical cost data and current market pricing to improve estimating accuracy.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, owners, consultants, and trade partners throughout preconstruction.
  • Prepare estimate presentations and participate in client interviews and project pursuits.
  • Support contract negotiations, buyout strategy, and the transition from preconstruction into project operations.
  • Mentor junior estimators and contribute to the development of estimating processes and best practices.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of estimating experience with a General Contractor.
  • Proven experience estimating mission-critical, data center, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or similarly complex technical projects.
  • Experience with projects valued at $100M+ strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction, including structural, architectural, civil, MEP, and specialty systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of subcontractor procurement, bid leveling, scope development, and cost analysis.
  • Able to read and interpret complex construction drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, OST, PlanSwift, MC², Procore, BuildingConnected, or similar estimating platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
