About the role

The Michels Mission Critical team plays a critical role in the development of large, complex projects. The team consists of construction and technical professionals working with one another and with customers to develop creative solutions for turning construction ideas into reliable outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Supervise and assign bids to a regional estimating staff.
  • Evaluate bid specifications and drawings to ensure all requirements are understood for successful bidding and winning projects.
  • Aggressively follow up with subcontractors to ensure bids are received.
  • Collaborate with Project Management teams to follow up on bids and budgets to close business and meet customer needs.
  • Work independently to produce highly accurate work in a timely manner.
  • Proactively communicate with clients and team members at all times.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver proposals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from a 4-year college or university.
  • Experience in utility construction estimating.
  • At least 5 years of substation estimating experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven and an acceptable driving record.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • On-site at the Hubbard Data Center, Monday-Friday each week.
