Senior Estimator

About the role

Senior HVAC Mechanical Estimator openings in Charlotte, Raleigh, and Charleston. You’ll join one of the Southeast’s leading commercial mechanical contractors, a growing company with a great culture, experienced collaborators, and leadership that involves estimators in bid/no‑bid decisions and preconstruction strategy—not just takeoffs. You’ll work alongside the Director of Preconstruction and company leadership to shape bids, build estimates, mentor other estimators, and help decide which projects to pursue.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other project costs.
• Perform HVAC takeoffs across hydronic and air‑side systems.
• Build budgets from early narratives through construction documents.
• Review vendor and subcontractor proposals.
• Develop scopes and bid packages.
• Coordinate equipment and controls pricing.
• Work with project managers to resolve scope issues and set projects up for success.

Requirements

• 4‑10+ years of experience in the HVAC industry.
• Substantial commercial mechanical estimating experience.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications.
• Confidence to guide others while managing multiple bids.

Pay

• Base salary range: $90,000 – $135,000.
• 10% bonus opportunity based on experience level.
• Sign‑on bonus offered.
