Senior Estimator

About the role

Our client, a well-known metal fabrication company in Baltimore, MD, is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead estimating efforts for commercial construction projects throughout the MD, DC, and Northern VA areas. The role is onsite five days per week with flexibility in schedule.

Responsibilities

• Prepare material and labor takeoffs and project estimates
• Develop bid proposals, scopes, alternates, and exclusions
• Coordinate pricing with vendors, subcontractors, and purchasing
• Review project plans, schedules, and specifications
• Provide value engineering and change order pricing
• Train and mentor estimating team members
• Support project turnover and collaboration with project managers
• Build and maintain strong client and vendor relationships
• Assist with hiring, workload management, and process improvements

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience in structural steel, miscellaneous metals, or commercial construction
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
• Strong blueprint reading and construction drawing interpretation skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Leadership experience and ability to mentor others

Pay

$120,000-$130,000 base salary + up to 50% bonus potential
