Senior Epic Beaker Analyst

About the role

The Senior Epic Beaker Analyst position at UChicago Medicine is a hybrid role requiring on-site presence as needed. Based in the greater Chicagoland area, this role involves formulating and defining systems scope and objectives based on user needs and industry requirements.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business and user needs
• Document requirements in business requirement documentation standard format
• Develop new or revise existing (problematic) system logic or configuration
• Evaluate business implications of technology on the current business environment
• Team leader for projects with a moderate budget or of a short to intermediate duration

Requirements

• Epic Beaker certification; alternate LIS certification/experience will be considered
• Demonstrated expertise within a specialized area of information systems software implementation and operational management
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and assess work to meet deadlines and cope in a fast-paced environment
• Capable of working well in a diverse, multi-disciplinary team and successfully interacting with others at all levels of the organization, including remote teams
• Prior proven ability to manage multiple requests, tasks, and requirements
• Proven skills in problem solving
• Experience in business process mapping
• Experience defining requirements and software development methodologies
• Ability to correlate between business, functional, and technical requirements
• Strong functional IT, general management consulting, or healthcare business background
• Proven interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, and effective presentation skills
• Ability to plan and facilitate meetings with diverse participants
• Maintain a professional attitude and demeanor in both normal and pressure situations

Qualifications

• BS or BA degree, computer science or business or equivalent relevant certification in healthcare, business management or information systems
• Minimal of 5 years of experience within an application team

Skills

Full technical knowledge of most phases of system analysis, considering business implications of technology.
