Overview
The Senior Environmental Services Technician plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This position combines hands-on service with functional supervision of environmental services staff to ensure high-quality standards are consistently met in assigned areas.
Education
No specific certification or licensure requirements.
Experience
- Maintain assigned areas and equipment to ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment.
- Perform tasks such as cleaning, disinfecting, and organizing patient rooms, hallways, common areas, and workspaces.
- Provide functional supervision by assigning daily tasks to Environmental Services staff and ensuring work is completed to quality standards.
- Train and orient new team members, serving as a resource for ongoing support and guidance.
- Monitor the quality and timeliness of staff work to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Aid in the development, implementation, and evaluation of quality improvement and customer service initiatives.
- Respond promptly to spills, urgent cleaning needs, and requests for service from clinical staff.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies.
