Senior Environmental Scientist or Engineer

Responsibilities
- Determines and assesses environmental risk and develops regulatory documentation
- Performs hazardous waste site inspections and recommends appropriate actions
- Serves as Project Manager or technical expert on large/complex environmental projects
- Evaluates and administers contracts with vendors for service and equipment
- Provides guidance and counsel to the site management team on applicable programs, practices, and regulations
- Maintains current knowledge of environmental and occupational health regulations
- Represents the site on company-sponsored steering teams
- Performs other duties as required
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Technology, Earth Science, or related Natural Science (such as Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Hydrology, Forestry, Agriculture, Meteorology, Environmental/Natural Resource Management), or Mathematics/Computer Science including Accounting and Finance, or Business Management, or other bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of related experience, OR
- Master's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (such as Environmental, Civil, Chemical, Agriculture, Mining, Metallurgical, Geological, or similar Engineering discipline) and five (5) years of Engineering experience in Environmental Management, including Project Management experience, OR
- Master's degree in a related field and three (3) years of Engineering experience in Environmental Management, including Project Management experience
Qualifications
- Additional certification or licensure appropriate to the job may be required or preferred (US examples include HAZWOPER, Method 9, DOT, EMS, Auditor, Asbestos, Water Treatment Operator, CHMM)
- Strong project management experience
- Water Model understanding and experience
- Experience leading environmental personnel
- Knowledge and experience with budgeting and forecasting
- Experience with environmental management systems
- Strong communication skills
- Environmental permitting experience
Skills
Strong project management experience, water model understanding and experience, understanding/experience with one or more of the following: CWA, SDWA, SPCC, MSGP, TRI, GRI, WQARF, RCRA, EPCRA, TIER II, knowledge and experience with budgeting and forecasting, experience leading environmental personnel, knowledge and experience with budgeting and forecasting, strong communication skills, environmental permitting experience.
Benefits
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $97,500-$138,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
