Senior Environmental Remediation Engineer
Job Description
NNL is seeking an experienced ESH Senior Compliance Engineer in the Environmental Remediation program area, which is part of the Environmental Operations and Remediation (EOR) unit. The EOR unit is comprised of subject matter experts in environmental remediation, radiological environmental monitoring, and compliance sampling at the Knolls Laboratory and Kesselring Site.
Required Combination Of Knowledge And Skill
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; or
- Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or
- Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; or
- Currently an Senior Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with conducting Environmental Investigation and Remediation projects in New York State, preferably under the RCRA Corrective Action program.
- Demonstrated experience with environmental investigation and remediation projects, including project design, execution, applied fieldwork and fieldwork oversight, and principal authorship of technical Corrective Action work plans and reports.
- Demonstrated strong oral and written communication and technical writing skills.
- Demonstrated experience with contract preparation and budgeting.
- Experienced in the reduction and assessment of inorganic and organic chemical analytical data (especially emerging contaminants (i.e., PFAS)) in various environmental media.
- HAZWOPER Qualification with current 8-hour refreshers.
- Education in geology, hydrogeology, or environmental engineering.
- Experienced interfacing with external regulators (e.g., NYSDEC, NYSDOH, EPA).
- Experienced with NYS and Federal regulations and guidance RCRA, TSCA, NEPA, and SHPO, NYSDEC DER-10, 6 NYCRR Part 375, Commissioners Policies (e.g., CP-43, CP-51), TOGS 1.1.1, and 6 NYCRR Part 703.
- Project Management experience.

Pay Range: $95,700.00 - $149,600.00 annually
