Senior Environmental Project Manager – Pipeline (PA)

Position Summary

Merjent, Inc. (Merjent) seeks Senior Project Managers with experience in the oil and gas industry, particularly in pipeline sector projects. The successful candidate will manage project teams, handle permitting processes, and build strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager for pipeline sector projects.
• Work with other Pipeline Sector Project Managers to build and manage project teams.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and risks using standard project management processes and tools.
• Build and maintain relationships with key clients.
• Encourage leadership succession through team building, training, and professional development.
• Ensure project teams have the necessary staffing and tools.
• Review project deliverables for quality assurance and meet client expectations.
• Participate in the proposal process and project development.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a natural resource/environmental field required.
• Minimum 10 years of experience or familiarity with permitting processes through USACE, FERC, USFWS, federal land management agencies, SHPO, or other relevant agencies.
• Minimum 5 years of experience or familiarity with project management and/or deputy project management preferred.
• Knowledge, interest, experience, and/or advanced degrees in environmental law, planning, anthropology/archaeology, hydrology, biology, wetland ecology, or related technical fields.
• Excellent oral and technical writing skills.
• Strong self-starter tendencies and excellent organizational/task management skills.
• Able to adapt quickly and work well under pressure.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Able to analyze, organize, and interpret data from multiple sources.
• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
