About the role
WSP is a leading energy solutions provider with decades of experience managing projects across the Texas/Louisiana region. This opportunity is for an accomplished Senior Environmental Project Manager with extensive experience managing both large and small environmental projects within the power and energy sector.
Responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary teams across complex energy projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Direct site selection and route evaluation for transmission, distribution, and generation facilities.
- Manage environmental permitting, applications, agency coordination, public meetings, and stakeholder engagement.
- Partner with local, state, and federal agencies; provide strategic guidance on state filing requirements.
- Monitor policy trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in the Texas/Louisiana energy market.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, agencies, landowners, and internal partners.
- Lead proposal development, scope definition, budgets, schedules, and client relationship growth.
- Champion innovation, operational efficiency, and best practices across project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Engineering, Environmental Science, Project Management, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- 10+ years of experience managing environmental projects in the energy sector (transmission, generation, renewables, or pipelines).
- Demonstrated expertise in siting and routing, permitting, impact assessments, and regulatory compliance in TX, LA, AR, OK, NM, or MS.
- Experience preparing and managing Public Utility Commission/Public Service Commission applications, including expert testimony.
- Prioritizing experience managing teams, budgets, schedules, and contractors across the full project lifecycle.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including public meetings and community outreach.
- Track record of successful proposal development, client growth, and team leadership.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Qualifications
- Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 10+ years of experience managing environmental projects in the energy sector.

Pay
The pay range for this role is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
This role may be based in Austin, TX; Houston, TX; San Antonio, TX; Fort Worth/Dallas, TX; Corpus Christi, TX; or Baton Rouge, LA.
