About the role
Pratt & Whitney’s Asheville, NC site is seeking an experienced Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) professional to partner with leadership and teams across the facility. The role involves executing EH&S requirements, supporting compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and driving continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance.
Responsibilities
- Partner with line supervision to ensure EH&S regulatory compliance and adherence to Pratt & Whitney procedures and RTX EH&S Standard Practices.
- Administer the EH&S Council, interface with subcommittees, update performance trends, and track EH&S projects to completion.
- Provide technical direction to line management and council subcommittee teams to execute goals and objectives.
- Serve as program manager for Health and Safety programs, including Contractor Safety Management, Elevated Work, Emergency Response, and other programs.
- Work on cross-functional projects interfacing with internal and external groups.
- Respond to onsite medical incidents and provide guidance as a spill responder on a rotating schedule.
- Coordinate and conduct specialized health and/or safety audits and inspections; monitor performance and assist management in developing action plans.
- Conduct trend analysis for inspections/audits, injuries, spills, near misses, and develop corrective/preventive actions.
- Identify opportunities to integrate EH&S programs into business operations with a focus on management system integration.
- Participate in pollution prevention and waste reduction initiatives.
- Assist line management with investigations, mistake-proofing initiatives, and immediate correction of unsafe conditions or practices.
- Ensure EH&S training is conducted and provide support as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years of EH&S regulatory compliance experience, or
- Advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of EH&S regulatory and management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a union manufacturing environment.
- Experience developing and implementing industry-leading safety and health programs.
- Mentoring and training experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing or related industry.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience forming, facilitating, and maintaining internal and cross-functional teams and relationships.
- Continuous improvement experience (e.g., CORE, Six Sigma, LEAN) strongly desired.
- Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders from site leadership to the shop floor and provide team leadership to meet aggressive goals.
- Additional certifications such as CSP, CIH, P.E., or CHMM strongly desired.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $107,500 – $204,500 USD. The final offer will consider factors such as role responsibilities, experience, location, education, and key skills.
