Senior Environmental Engineer - Water Group
About the Role
This position is for a Senior Environmental Engineer based in Fort Myers to assist in the delivery of water treatment facilities of moderate to high complexity throughout Southwest Florida.
Responsibilities
- With high-level goals provided, leads teams to design and deliver water treatment facilities and related water infrastructure, including process modeling through signing and sealing construction drawings as the engineer-of-record. Alternative delivery experience such as progressive design build is a plus.
- Reviews draft designs and reports for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and signs off on completed designs.
- Ensures that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
- Performs site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications and updates design requirements as necessary.
- Performs water quality analyses and modeling.
- Contributes to the firm's Technical Knowledge Management by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs and studies.
- Submits technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals.
- Collaborates with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs).
- Reviews draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local, and federal regulations and best practices.
- Proactively meets with current and potential future clients to review their current and future design needs.
- Attends conferences, symposia, etc., to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.
- May act as a point of contact for external clients and related industry contacts.
- Collaborates with clients and government officials to clarify technical questions and provides updates to project management as necessary.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff.
- Mentors more junior staff and develops them for future growth within the discipline and firm.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
- Professional engineering (PE) license.
- 12 years of related experience.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required (10% or less). The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, varying based on workload and project demands.
- Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Skills & Abilities
- Expert knowledge of computer-assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
- Expert knowledge of engineering principles of design.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Expert knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations.
Pay
Pay range minimum: USD $120,973.00
Pay range maximum: USD $211,723.00

In addition to geographic location, a candidate’s salary is determined by several other factors including, but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, relevant work experience, skills, required certifications, and education/training.
