Responsibilities
- Serve as a key member of the environmental services group to work collaboratively with a passionate team supporting a wide variety of clients with complex and challenging investigation and remediation projects.
- Lead engineering design projects and/or collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to prepare design documents (e.g., vapor mitigation, in-situ remediation, erosion and sediment control and potable water purification systems), work plans, investigation reports, proposals, feasibility studies and cost estimates.
- QC and/or prepare investigative scopes of work, data management and interpretation as well as senior-level support for field work.
- Manage multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines. Prepare progress reports and draft change orders. Prepare draft invoices, project billings, and assist in payment collections.
- Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff for specific project assignments. Mentor, train, and motivate staff assigned to Environmental projects.
- Participate in interviewing and hiring staff.
- Effectively organize, write, and edit reports, draft proposals, and other documents.
- Prepare/coordinate proposals in conjunction with the marketing and technical staff. Assist with “Go/No Go” decisions for responding to RFP’s.
- Marshall the necessary resources on proposal opportunities which may involve developing a proposal strategy, writing portions of the proposal, and coordinating efforts of other technical writers to develop a winning proposal.
- Interface effectively and professionally with clients, contractors, subcontractors, staff, project personnel, supervisors, and others.
- Maintain affiliation with professional societies and upkeep professional licenses/certifications.
Qualifications/ Skills/Competencies
- Bachelor's and/or master’s degree in environmental engineering.
- 10-15 years of related environmental work experience at engineering/consulting firms.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification, including current annual refresher.
- Technical project expertise in environmental remediation, investigations, and environmental compliance.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of NYSDEC, EPA, CERCLA, and RCRA regulations.
- Strong people, project, client management skills, and business acumen.
- Experience in supervising and managing staff.
- Able to effectively work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent public speaking, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multi-tasking, and judgment capabilities.
- Must be proficient in CAD. Experience in Revit is a plus.
Pay
Compensation Range: $149,671.54 - $171,053.19
