About the Role
This position provides project management and technical leadership for environmental investigation and remediation projects, while assisting in the development of technical staff to meet client and organizational needs.
Responsibilities
- Project Management: Manage projects, including scheduling and coordination of resources to meet client and organizational needs. Ensure task schedules, budgets, and client invoicing align with company standards and client requirements.
- Technical Data Review and Report Preparation: Coordinate and provide quality control for data collection and review of project results. Interpret data, develop reports, and document findings and remediation recommendations for Project Principal’s review.
- Proposal Preparation and Business Development: Assist with the preparation of proposals, cost estimates, and marketing activities.
- Staff Mentoring and Training: Participate in the development of junior staff and collaborate with senior management to grow as a consultant and leader.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field.
- Minimum of 7 years of environmental consulting experience.
- Professional certification as a P.E., or a minimum of 7 years working under a licensed professional if certification is absent.
- Proficient in senior-level interpretation work, including remedial cost estimates, future remedial measures selection, and costing.
- Experience performing conceptual and detailed remedial design work.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Advanced data evaluation and analytical skills.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience interacting with clients and regulatory agencies.
- Ability and willingness to support the technical growth of project/staff-level professionals through direct hands-on interactions.
Work Environment
- Field Work: Occasionally works in the field, leading teams at exterior project sites (e.g., industrial/brownfield facilities, monitoring wells, treatment systems, construction projects) to perform sample collection, record operational/meter parameters, and oversee subcontractors (e.g., drillers, heavy equipment operators, truckers). Requires the ability to drive to project sites, navigate various terrains, and work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
- Office Work: Primarily stationary/sedentary, involving computer and keyboard/mouse use with repetitive hand movements.
Pay
Base salary range: $105,000 – $150,000. This range reflects Roux’s good-faith estimate for this position and geographic location. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications, skill sets, and internal equity. The position is also eligible for performance bonuses based on individual job performance and firm profitability.
