About the role

Weaver Consultants Group is seeking an experienced consultant with a strong background in project management and client development. This position is part of WCG’s Environmental Practice Group, focusing on managing and implementing complex due diligence and large-scale remediation projects across the U.S. The ideal candidate will balance technical expertise with business development skills, operating under a "seller/doer" model.

Responsibilities

  • Champion quality and demonstrate leadership through high personal standards for work processes, products, and client service.
  • Negotiate and agree on project scope, tasks, contract terms, budget, and schedule with clients.
  • Manage work to meet contract schedules, regulatory compliance, and industry standards.
  • Develop and provide input for written technical reports, perform quality control reviews, and ensure deliverable quality.
  • Actively support and participate in the company health and safety program, enforcing standards and procedures.
  • Successfully manage $500,000+ of net revenue annually through client work and business development, maintaining profit margins consistent with other managers.
  • Develop new business to support revenue goals, generating at least one new client annually with net revenues of $50,000–$100,000.
  • Obtain new or follow-on assignments from 85% or more of existing quality clients.
  • Execute complex projects independently, sometimes leading other engineers.
  • Proactively improve team processes and workflows.
  • Mentor and support junior technical staff on a technical basis.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Engineering, Chemistry, Geology, or a related field with 5–15 years of project management experience.
  • Professional registration or certification (e.g., PE or PG).
  • Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently.
  • Clear understanding of project implementation and team guidance.
  • Ability to operate without senior manager support at times.
  • Knowledge of environmental science principles, policies, and regulations.
  • Ability to interact and negotiate with regulatory personnel and clients.
  • Demonstrated leadership, management, and administration skills.
  • Strong client relationship development and business development abilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including report preparation demonstrating technical and compliance expertise.
  • Strong personal safety culture.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training in accordance with 29CFR 1910.120.

Preferred Skills

  • Advanced degree (MS) in engineering or geology.
  • Experience managing projects under RCRA Corrective Action, CERCLA, and/or the NJDEP Site Remediation Program (SRP).
  • Experience designing and implementing site characterization activities.
  • Experience with remediation design and implementation, including technologies such as soil vapor extraction (SVE), in-situ chemical oxidation (ISCO), enhanced reductive dechlorination (ERD), and Carbon Trap and Treat BOS-100/200.
  • Experience with industrial wastewater treatment design, operations, maintenance, and monitoring.
