Serán Bioscience, LLC is a solid dosage pharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing organization looking for a Senior Environmental Engineer to lead environmental compliance, sustainability, and environmental management initiatives in research and development, laboratory, clinical manufacturing and commercial manufacturing environments to ensure organizational operations meet regulatory requirements and corporate environmental objectives. This role provides technical leadership on complex environmental projects, oversees environmental programs, manages regulatory relationships, and drives continuous improvement efforts related to air quality, water resources, waste management, pollution prevention, and sustainability performance. Duties & Responsibilities Lead environmental compliance programs across multiple facilitiesInterpret and apply federal, state, and local environmental regulationsDevelop and maintain environmental permits, licenses, and regulatory submissionsServe as the primary point of contact for environmental regulatory agencies and external auditorsProvide technical expertise on environmental engineering projects and studiesLead environmental impact assessments, due diligence investigations, and remediation effortsReview engineering designs and operational changes for environmental compliance implicationsMentor junior engineers and environmental professionalsEstablish environmental performance metrics and reporting systemsIdentify opportunities to improve environmental performance while reducing operating costsManage environmental projects from planning through execution and closeoutPrepare budgets, schedules, scope documents, and project deliverablesCoordinate activities with operations, engineering, maintenance, and leadership teamsManage environmental consultants, contractors, and laboratory servicesConduct environmental audits and corrective action programsConduct environmental risk assessments and develop mitigation strategiesLead investigations of environmental incidents, spills, permit deviations, and compliance concernsSupport emergency preparedness and environmental response planning Requires Skills & Abilities Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting, and compliance systemsExperience managing complex environmental projects and regulatory interactionsDemonstrated leadership and project management experienceStrong analytical, technical writing, and presentation skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office and environmental data management systems Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline8+ years of environmental engineering, compliance, or sustainability experienceExperience with Oregon DEQ preferred Physical Requirements Combination of office, laboratory, manufacturing, and field environmentsFrequent site visits and occasional travel to support operations and regulatory activitiesMay require work in varied weather conditions and operational settings We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information.
