Senior Environmental Engineer 1
Duties/Responsibilities
- Prepare and/or review written communications and technical deliverables.
- Demonstrate and apply technical competence, knowledge of codes and regulations, and professional standard of practice to assigned tasks.
- Leverage understanding of technical scopes of work for assigned work and their alignment with overall project objectives to deliver quality assignments.
- Coach, mentor, and direct junior staff to ensure high-quality execution of project tasks, including field activities and preparation of technical reports and deliverables, while facilitating knowledge transfer for team development.
- Use developing skills to be visible in your discipline by giving internal technical presentations and/or conference presentations and attending external networking events.
- Lead field programs, construction, and remedial system operation, maintenance, and monitoring tasks.
- Lead environmental data and technical evaluation and reporting tasks.
- Lead remedial action development, feasibility studies, cost estimating and permitting tasks.
- Plan and perform all work in accordance with company and client health and safety protocols.
- Demonstrate the company’s foundational safety behaviors.
Skills/Experience
- Minimum Skills and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 6+ years of related experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including verbally communicating and presenting project information.
- Desire to learn and grow in your profession, demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, resourcefulness, flexibility, and ownership.
- Skilled in the use of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS software.
- Experience with soil, groundwater, and air treatment technologies.
- Working knowledge of regulatory framework that is pertinent to the work.
- Preferred Skills:
- Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related field preferred.
- Have CA professional registration PE – or can get it within 12 months of hire.
- Design, construction, and operation, maintenance, and monitoring experience with environmental remediation projects.
- Association with professional organizations in field of specialty.
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and refresher updates.
