We want you to be Atelier Ten San Francisco’s newest full-time Environmental Designer with a specialty in Energy Analysis with the goal of collaborating on projects to achieve energy efficiency and carbon emissions reduction goals. You would help produce technical deliverables, perform whole building energy modeling, develop engineering strategies for building systems (HVAC), consult on projects, and lead the industry in decarbonizing the built environment. You would be an integral member of an interdisciplinary environmental design consulting group and a key member of the company’s Energy Analysis practice. What is this role on a high level? In this role, you’ll consult on and manage projects (based on your experience and capability) under the guidance of an Associate and/or Director. Beyond leading exciting projects, you’ll maintain strong client and design community relationships, participate in meetings, support or lead design charrettes, and ensure clear, effective communication across teams. You’ll also take ownership of reporting, budgeting, and time management to keep projects on track and deliver exceptional results. What your day-to-day looks like? Here Are Some Regular Tasks You May Encounter Independently and proactively plan and manage projects from start to finishBuild and maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and responsive serviceCoordinate with design and contractor teams to ensure seamless project deliveryLead client presentations, design charrettes, and internal team meetingsCollaborate with Atelier Ten’s technical analysis teams to integrate sustainability strategies into your projectsForecast project fees and resources, and manage budgets effectivelyAuthor and review project deliverables, including reports, memos, technical studies, and drawingsCreate compelling graphic illustrations to communicate technical concepts across our consulting practicesWork on a diverse range of projects within the built environment, including institutional, commercial, and residential buildings, as well as large-scale masterplansPartner with Atelier Ten’s integrated design groups to support services such as environmental design consulting, daylight and façade analysis, and benchmarking What we are looking for? We are looking for someone who is curious, proactive, self-motivated with an appreciation and willingness to learn on multiple projects. And if we’re not pushing our luck with asks, you ideally will possess: Bachelor’s or higher degree in a field related to environmental building design, architecture, architectural engineering, and/ or building science 5-10 years’ professional experience in an architecture, engineering or sustainability consulting firm·LEED, or WELL AP with specialty certification preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and WordStrong ability in visual communication and sketchingIn addition, experience with software such as “R,” Grasshopper, Radiance, Revit, eQuest, EnergyPlus, IES, D3, or data visualization would be desirableExperience with AutoCAD, Rhino or graphics software (Adobe Illustrator and InDesign) a plusEffective time and budget management capabilityStrong technical and business writing skillsGood verbal and inter-personal ability What to expect from us? These factors include (but not limited to) the responsibilities, requirements, and location of the position, as well as the candidate/s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. We also consider internal equity, market data, and growth potential. The good faith estimate of the base compensation offered for this role is between $75,000 and $85,000.
