Essential Responsibilities & Duties

The ideal candidate for this position will:

  • Support the development of new and existing clients and markets while cross-selling GEI’s other core business areas (e.g., permitting, water resources, ecological services, and engineering) to facilitate growth of GEI’s northeast Wisconsin offices.
  • Maintain high visibility in the marketplace through regular client contact.
  • Participate in client-based professional organizations and present at industry events.
  • Manage projects and tasks that support clients in the region with investigation and remediation of environmental conditions, environmental due diligence, environmental compliance and permitting.
  • Lead and work on a variety of environmental projects throughout the Midwest.
  • Prepare project correspondence, data reports, and work plans for internal and client review.
  • Mentor and train staff.
  • Minimum Qualifications

    • B.S. in Environmental Engineering or Geology; Masters preferred.
    • Experience with environmental permitting and compliance, focusing on federal and state (Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Michigan) environmental regulations is preferred.
    • Experience with Wisconsin’s Spill Law and Michigan Part 201 and Part 213 risk-based assessment and closure are a plus.
    • Professional Engineer, Professional Geologist, and/or Certified Hydrogeologist is preferred.
    • 12+ years relevant experience.
    • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, judgement, and problem-solving capabilities.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and organization skills.
    • Seller-doer with strong regional connections and an entrepreneurial spirit.
