Senior Engineering Project Manager

About the role

Full‑time, direct‑hire Project Manager position located in Midlothian, VA (Richmond, VA area).

Responsibilities

• Execute projects by managing scope, schedule, and budgets for Engineering & Design and Engineering, Procurement & Construction projects in a multi‑disciplined, heavy‑industrial engineering consulting firm.
• Contribute to process‑improvement initiatives that enhance project delivery and meet financial objectives.
• Control projects efficiently to ensure they run according to schedule and meet financial targets.
• Motivate team members to meet project goals, adhere to responsibilities, and achieve milestones.
• Manage risks and change requests to ensure successful, on‑time delivery.
• Conduct project reviews, monitoring cost, schedule, technical performance, and client relationship status.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or Construction Management.
• 10+ years of experience in a consulting engineering industrial environment.
• Demonstrated project management experience, including tracking and planning projects.
• Proven ability to lead projects and programs to on‑schedule, within‑budget completion.
• Excellent leadership, written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, decisive, and adaptable to change and competing demands.
• Ability to self‑manage daily and weekly activities to aggressively meet project and management requirements.
• Skill in reorganizing project tasks and priorities to meet milestones.
• Experience drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommending budget changes.
• Strong teamwork and communication with clients, designers, engineers, field staff, suppliers/subcontractors, and other contractors at project sites.
• Willingness to travel to various client sites locally and outside the Richmond area.
