For our client, a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space, we are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will collaborate across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions, influencing architecture, execution quality, and long-term technology capabilities in a manufacturing environment.
Location: Remote – US-based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Offline Perception team, including hiring and mentoring engineers.
- Own the development roadmap for offline perception models from datasets to delivery.
- Review and guide architecture decisions for data pipelines and model training.
- Represent the team to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Prioritize the roadmap and resolve dependencies with product and peer engineering leaders.
- Drive improvements in dataset specifications and evaluation methodologies.
- Manage team health and staffing, balancing skills across ML and data infrastructure needs.
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of software or ML engineering experience, including 2+ years managing engineers.
- Hands-on experience with auto-labeling for self-driving development.
- Track record of delivering large-scale perception datasets in production contexts.
- Broad understanding of perception models across various modalities.
- Experience with AI infrastructure and data pipelines.
- Proven experience in setting technical strategy for ML or data engineering teams.
Pay
$195,500 – $234,600 annually
