Accountabilities
- Define and execute the vision, roadmap, and objectives for CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and release automation frameworks.
- Lead the architecture and scaling of cloud-native build platforms and standardized end-to-end delivery workflows.
- Drive the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and self-service infrastructure platforms.
- Establish reusable pipeline templates, standardized development workflows, and policy-as-code solutions to improve consistency, security, and compliance.
- Implement progressive delivery strategies, including automated rollbacks, feature flags, blue/green deployments, and canary releases.
- Use engineering performance metrics, including DORA metrics, to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Enhance developer experience by reducing build times, improving reliability, and enabling efficient development environments.
- Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing DevOps and Build Engineering team focused on automation and operational excellence.
- Partner with Engineering, Product, and Security teams to align platform strategy, DevSecOps initiatives, and technology roadmaps.
- Improve observability across delivery pipelines through effective use of monitoring, metrics, logging, and tracing.
- Balance immediate execution needs with long-term infrastructure and platform investments.
Requirements
- The ideal candidate is an experienced engineering leader with deep expertise in DevOps, infrastructure engineering, and building platforms that support large-scale software delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 7+ years of engineering management experience and 10+ years of experience in DevOps, software engineering, or infrastructure engineering.
- Strong experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or CircleCI.
- Experience with build systems and artifact management tools such as Bazel, Gradle, Maven, or npm.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools including CDK, Terraform, and Ansible.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Python, Go, Java, or TypeScript.
- Strong understanding of DevOps, platform engineering principles, automation, and self-service infrastructure models.
- Experience using data and performance metrics to drive operational improvements.
- Prowess in leading teams, mentoring engineers, influencing stakeholders, and communicating effectively across technical and business groups.
- Ability to combine strategic thinking with strong execution skills in a fast-moving environment.
