SENIOR ENGINEERING GEOLOGIST

About the role

The Division of Engineering Services (DES), Geotechnical Services (GS) is looking to hire a Senior Engineering Geologist (Sr EG) Specialist, in the Office of Geotechnical Design West (OGDW).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise on geologically complex projects.
• Support Planning, Design, Construction, Maintenance, and Legal processes for transportation projects.
• Plan and execute investigations (desktop and field), conduct engineering geologic work and geotechnical evaluations.
• Develop designs, prepare Geotechnical Design Reports, Foundation Reports, and PS&E.
• Oversee consultants and service contractors working on projects funded by the Department and/or local agencies.
• Represent the Office in meetings with internal and external partners.
• Lead teams as necessary to complete projects or tasks.

Requirements

• A licensed Professional Geologist.
• Experience in Project Development and Engineering Geology.
• Knowledge and experience in landslides, tunnels, and rockfall mitigation systems.
• Experience working on difficult and complex technical projects as part of a team.
• Technical review of geotechnical reports.
• Technical support and input to other professionals by conducting peer reviews and sharing knowledge and experience.

Qualifications

The position requires a Professional License as a Geologist License. You will be required to provide a copy of your license prior to being hired.

Skills

Knowledge and experience in landslides, tunnels, and rockfall mitigation systems.

Experience working on difficult and complex technical projects as part of a team.

Technical review of geotechnical reports.

Technical support and input to other professionals by conducting peer reviews and sharing knowledge and experience.

Pay

$11,437.00 - $14,315.00
