Senior Engineer (Mechanic)

Key Job Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic, service, and repair work on MTU diesel engines (Series 2000, 4000, etc.) and ZF gearboxes.
• Lead preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Conduct engine overhauls, gearbox inspections, and mechanical rebuilds.
• Analyze technical issues using diagnostic tools and software.
• Prepare detailed service reports, root cause analyses, and repair documentation.
• Coverage of technical updates, part sourcing, and warranty claims with manufacturers.
• Support on-site and off-site service interventions, including shipyards or remote client locations.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Train and supervise junior technicians and field engineers as needed.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum 5–8 years of hands-on experience with MTU diesel engines and ZF gearboxes.
• Factory training or certification from MTU (Rolls-Royce Power Systems) and/or ZF is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of diesel engine systems, fuel injections, turbochargers, control systems, and marine propulsion.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and service manuals.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Fluent in English; additional language skills are a plus.
• Willingness to travel and work on-site in remote or offshore locations as needed.
