Senior Engineer
About the role
As a Senior Engineer you will lead finite element analysis (FEA) for the repair, modification, and qualification of safety-related components in primary reactor coolant systems, supporting operating plants and AP1000 designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute design and analysis plans from preliminary through final design, translating performance and structural requirements into compliant engineering solutions using lessons learned and best practices.
- Qualify component designs using ANSYS-based thermal and structural FEA, closed-form analytical methods, and Westinghouse internal engineering.
- Improve analysis quality and efficiency by implementing advanced methods, automation, and innovative tools.
- Collaborate with systems, manufacturing, and component teams to ensure effective subsystem integration and resolve complex design and production issues.
- Partner with project managers and technical leads to align technical scope, schedules, and resources across programs.
- Demonstrate accountability, delivering high-quality engineering work that meets safety, quality, and schedule expectations.
Qualifications
- We will consider BS in Mechanical Engineering, (alternate degrees such as nuclear, aerospace, structural engineering with relevant experience).
- Proficiency in ANSYS Workbench and at least a familiarity with ANSYS Mechanical (APDL).
- Minimum of 6 years of experience required or 4 with an advanced degree.
- PE License (Preferred).
Pay
The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $85,200 to $106,500 per year.
