About the role
Provide engineering and consulting services for a broad array of projects and clients, including performing field investigations, engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations, design and development of drawings and specifications, field observations and reporting, and the writing, preparation, and review of related reports.
Review drawings and construction to verify compliance with drawings and specifications, prepare proposals and fee estimates, track and evaluate project progress, and research and help resolve design and construction problems.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects such as Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Commissioning (Cx), MEP diagnostic studies and assessments, MEP remedial design projects, property condition assessments (PCAs) including enhanced MEP assignments of PCAs, building energy audits, energy code compliance inspections, MEP construction observations in new and existing facilities
- Participate in safety rules and practices for the team and help the team follow rules and practices, model a safe work environment, demonstrating safety practices, and promote pre-task planning for all projects
- Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects, monitor quality standards and practices, and develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk and how to protect the Company
- Provide technical direction required for production and completion of both routine and unique or complex projects, conceptualize the initial design and/or investigative approach for a major phase of a large project, and plan, schedule, conduct, and/or coordinate engineering work
- Provide review of projects requiring complex and innovative investigation techniques, supervise the analysis and formulation of recommendations in written reports to clients, and provide technical review of reports
- Lead technical training, make informed decisions based upon state-of-the-art technology issues, and reference and interpret applicable codes, standards, and regulations to evaluate the compliance of engineering designs and physical installations
- Mentor junior professionals, provide leadership of marketing, sales and business development, supervise less experienced engineers or technical support personnel on projects, and assist in business development efforts
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum five years of related experience
- Professional Engineering license or able to obtain within 12-months of date of hire
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history
- Local market knowledge
