About the Role
Provide engineering and consulting services for a broad array of projects and clients. This may include performing and/or leading field investigations, engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations, design and development of plans and specifications, observation and inspection, and the writing, preparation, and review of related reports for the services provided.
Responsibilities
- Review drawings and construction to assure compliance with plans and specifications.
- Prepare proposals and cost estimates, track and evaluate project progress, budgets, and recommend changes.
- Research and resolve design and construction problems.
- Assign, review, and evaluate laboratory or field data for inclusion in reports.
- Apply sound engineering principles and communicate complex engineering issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams.
- Lead safety efforts for team and ensure adherence to safety rules and guidelines; model a safe work environment and promote pre-task planning.
- Monitor and promote quality standards and practices; ensure consistent quality on project and proposal delivery.
- Develop understanding of project-related risk and ensure compliance with company risk policies.
- Provide technical direction for production and completion of routine and complex projects.
- Conceptualize initial design and/or investigative approach for major project phases or oversee engineering work on projects of moderate scope.
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate engineering work involving conventional practices with complex features, such as conflicting design requirements.
- Review projects requiring innovative investigation techniques; supervise analysis and formulate recommendations in written reports.
- Lead technical training and make informed decisions based on state-of-the-art technology issues.
- Provide leadership in marketing, sales, and business development.
- Supervise less experienced engineers or technical support personnel.
- Serve as a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 8-11 years’ experience.
- Master’s degree in Engineering preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
- Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer status required.
Preferred Certification: Authorized Project Reviewer status.
