Senior Engineer

About the role

Platform Engineers work within software development agile teams to maintain and develop the host platform that the rest of the ATD application runs on. They configure the host OS, system startup tooling, permissions, remote user management, and Docker to provide a stable and efficient platform while managing hardware resources. They also build and maintain upgrade and deployment tooling for the product.

Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain Linux operating system deployment
• Configure and maintain Docker applications
• Upgrade system packages to close vulnerabilities in 3rd party software
• Integrate system with directory servers for remote user management
• Build and maintain tooling for deploying and upgrading the system
• Contribute to architecture designs
• Decompose user stories into tasks and estimate story points for user stories and tasks
• Perform manual tests as required

Requirements

• Experience with Linux systems (CentOS and RHEL preferred)
• Experience with Docker
• Experience with Python
• Experience with Systemd
• Experience with Linux BASH scripting and administration
• Works and communicates well in a distributed/remote team environment
• Experience with Git and Ansible
• Experience with RedHat Package Manager (RPM) and yum repositories
• Familiarity with KVM/ESX virtual environments

Qualifications

BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (3 years of work experience in place of degree).
