Essential Responsibilities
- Delivers project discipline scope elements within budget and schedule.
- Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team’s work.
- Supervises and guides team to overall project objectives.
- Provides senior-level technical expertise to client on project aspects within the discipline.
- Writes proposals for future work.
- Affords assistance with project management duties; maintains strong working relationships with clients and agency personnel.
- Attends project coordination meetings with client and other project disciplines.
- Maintains contact with agency staff to coordinate on project needs and to resolve issues.
- Learns and stays knowledgeable of local agency requirements, applicable codes, and plans approval processes.
- Attends a minimum of eight hours per year of technical and eight hours per year of managerial continuing education.
- Maintains proficiency with production software.
- Updates staff on what was learned.
- Meets all requirements for Project Engineer.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Experience using Synchro/SimTraffic, SIDRA, VISTRO, VISSIM and similar software.
- Proficient in CAD software, Civil 3D, and Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, and Project).
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and oral communications.
- Ability to read and comprehend detailed correspondence and reports.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

- Arterial and freeway design including roadside safety
- Utility Coordination
- Addressing utility/agency/project manager red lines and comments to plans
Education And Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's of Science degree in appropriate engineering discipline.
- Minimum seven (7) years of experience in engineering design and/or project management.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- This position requires a Nevada Professional Engineer license, or capable of acquiring in six (6) months after hire.
- Valid driver’s license.
