Senior Engineer
About the role
This position is responsible for independently delivering engineering services, from conceptual design through construction completion. Essential duties include project planning, coordination, and execution; completing conceptual design through construction drawing development; plumbing calculations and design; engaging in project decisions; communicating and coordinating project designs; conducting economic and energy analyses; field engineering; managing time to meet project schedules and task deadlines; overseeing other design team members; and providing quality design drawings and models.
Responsibilities
- Expert in project planning, coordination, and execution
- Create conceptual designs certified to Building Codes, Energy Codes, and LEED standards
- Responsible for plumbing calculations, design and layout of equipment, plumbing systems on assigned projects
- Engage in engineering applications and/or managers in project decisions
- Communicate and coordinate project designs with Project Management, Construction and Service departments, Controls, and other trade partners
- Conduct economic and energy analyses
- Field engineering: assist with project execution, trade coordination, scheduling, document management and problem solving/troubleshooting, as required
- Manage time to meet project schedules and task deadlines
- Oversee other design team members to complete project assignments when requested by Manager
Requirements
- BS in Engineering or Construction Management
- Professional Engineer license highly desirable, but not required
- Minimum 8 years of experience with a Design/Build Mechanical Contractor or consultant
- Excellent understanding of engineering and design fundamentals
- Thorough understanding of systems and applications
- Excellent familiarity with Building Codes and industry standards
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit

Pay
$50 to $72 per hour
Schedule
Non-exempt position from Monday through Friday. Work hours are as established by the local manager and generally begin and end between 7:00 am to 8:00 am start and 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm end, with one-hour break for lunch and two rest breaks. Eight hours per day is required and other occasional overtime may be necessary per business needs.
