Senior Engineer – Agile Software Development – CDS / Engine System Software P3 (Onsite)

About the role
Pratt & Whitney Controls & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development and certification of military and commercial gas turbine engine control and diagnostic systems. CDS is responsible for all aspects of Pratt & Whitney engine control and diagnostic system development and support, including requirements analysis & definition, system & software architecture, algorithm design, product software design, verification & validation, and engine and flight test support.
The CDS organization is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented, and results-driven Senior Engineer to join the Engine System Software organization. This onsite role is based at our East Hartford, CT facility.
Responsibilities
- Develop and/or lead support software tool development in a DevSecOps pipeline
- Participate in and/or lead process improvements
- Perform trade studies and analyze solutions
- Develop and/or lead software requirements and designs within the Agile Framework
- Perform and/or lead software verification within the Agile Framework
- Participate in and/or lead Agile ceremonies
- Participate in software planning, estimating, and tracking per Agile framework
- Potential to serve as Agile Scrum Master, Product Owner, Product Manager, and/or part of the development team
Qualifications
You Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
- 5 years of engineering experience, or an Advanced Degree and 3 years’ experience
We Prefer
- Solid track record of achieving results in a technical role
- Ability to work in a dynamic, high-pressure engineering environment
- Prior experience developing software in an Agile framework
- Proficiency in at least one scripting or embedded code language
- Matlab/Simulink experience
- Prior safety-critical software development experience
- Knowledge of regulatory standards such as DO-178B
- Outstanding cross-discipline communication skills
- Familiarity with jet engine control and diagnostic system architectures and control logic design
- Experience delivering DevSecOps, automation, or AI solutions
- Model-Based System or Software engineering experience
- Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure

Pay
The salary range for this role is $86,800 – $165,200 USD. The range provided is a good-faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
