Senior Engineer 2
About the role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer 2 to support a client's Servicing Technology team, with a primary focus on software development, Java, Spring Boot, microservices, cloud technologies, and REST APIs. This is a contract opportunity for a hands-on software engineer who can design, develop, test, and implement large-scale solutions in production environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, cloud platforms, REST APIs, and modern software development practices, while being comfortable solving complex technical problems and working across multiple teams. Contract: approximately 12 weeks with potential to extend to 6 months (10/06/2026 – 12/31/2026). Work location: Fort Worth, TX. Hybrid arrangement: onsite Tuesdays–Thursdays, virtual Mondays and Fridays.
Responsibilities
- Write, test, and document technical work products including code, scripts, and processes according to organizational standards and practices
- Solve complex technical problems and build reusable components and libraries with broad organizational impact
- Design, develop, and implement large-scale software solutions in production environments
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify systemic problems and lead execution of action items to address technical issues
- Design thoughtfully integrated systems that follow organizational best practices and enable teams to deliver value with speed, scale, and reliability
- Manage technical debt within existing systems and identify opportunities to eliminate or reduce technical debt
- Anticipate scaling, latency, durability, performance, resiliency, and reliability challenges and guide teams toward effective solutions
