About the role

The Senior Employee Relations Partner is critical in supporting managers and leaders to maintain a fair, harmonious workplace that supports organizational goals. They will manage and deliver a caseload of employee relations cases, provide clear and commercially focused advice aligned with employment law, and mediate discussions to resolve disputes and improve relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver a case load of employee relations cases, including investigations, disciplinary, grievance, capability, appeals, leave of absence and absence management from the start of process through to conclusion
  • Act as a trusted advisor to managers providing clear and commercially focused advice aligned with employment law
  • Ensure consistent application of ER policies and procedures balancing business needs with fair outcomes
  • Mediate and facilitate discussions between employees and management to resolve disputes and improve relationships
  • Maintain records of employee relations activity and provide reports to senior management
  • Identify trends and themes to support proactive initiatives and continuous improvement
  • Upskill managers ensuring they understand the proactive role they can take to reduce ER issues
  • Monitor trends and feedback to HRBPs
  • US Liaise with HLUS Legal and Compliance teams to ensure awareness of policy updates and best practice
  • Drive continuous improvement of ER practices and processes
  • Ensure up to date employment law knowledge
  • Collaborate on wider P&C projects

Skills

  • Skilled communicator with excellent knowledge of employment law
  • Working across the site with all levels of leaders and managers to correctly manage all employee related issues
  • Employee relations can be complex and therefore must have good problem solving skills and the ability to prioritize competing demands

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or specialist HR qualification
  • 7 – 10 years experience of working on employee relations issues
  • Current knowledge of employment law and emerging trends
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Deep knowledge of employment laws and regulations
  • Problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Empathy and strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with all levels of the organization
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and maintain detailed records
