About the role

The Environmental Effects Engineering (EEE) organization at Collins Aerospace is seeking an EMC/EMI Project Engineer to manage test readiness, documentation, and coordination across technical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support EMI projects through design considerations, requirements alignment, and participation in technical reviews.
  • Prepare for and coordinate EMI testing, including schedules, test readiness activities, and required documentation.
  • Work with the various facets of the test lab to ensure equipment, technicians, and resources are available and aligned with project needs.
  • Develop and update EMI test plans, procedures, and reports, ensuring accuracy, consistency and repeatability.
  • Care for and maintain test documentation such as datasheets, data files, photo logs, and configuration files.
  • Review test data for accuracy and assist test engineers with troubleshooting efforts.
  • Participate in peer reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of documentation and processes.
  • Ensure technicians follow appropriate procedures and maintain accurate documentation throughout testing.
  • Provide internal and external customer communication and support throughout the testing lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain a US DoD Security Clearance (Selected Candidate will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements)
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams to align requirements, cost, and schedule with internal program goals and external contractual commitments.
  • Experience in Circuit board and Radio Frequency (RF) design, including use of schematic capture tools and collaboration with PCB layout board designers.
  • Experience applying military aerospace testing standards (DO-160; MIL-STD-461; MIL-STD-704).
  • Working knowledge of electromagnetic (EM) or circuit simulation tools.
  • Experience supporting RF hardware development activities, including requirements capture and verification, design and development, integration, and testing at the sub-system and system level.
  • Willingness to pursue/obtain International Association for Radio, Telecommunications and Electromagnetics (iNARTE) certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and present technical material clearly and effectively.
