About the role

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain the software powering our engines, vehicles, and avionics systems. You will be part of a small, high-impact team building flight software at the cutting edge of reliability, safety, and performance. This role requires a detail-oriented, self-driven engineer who thrives on solving complex problems and advancing the state of the art in aerospace.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software for avionics throughout the product lifecycle
  • Develop and maintain ground support software tools and systems
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to define and deliver new software features
  • Document designs, code, and procedures to ensure maintainability and compliance
  • Debug, optimize, and support software and hardware integration efforts

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 4+ years of professional experience in embedded C/C++ development for ARM, SoC, or FPGA softcore platforms
  • Hands-on experience with hardware interface programming (timers, interrupts, communication protocols, ADCs, etc.)
  • Proficiency reading schematics and debugging with hardware tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers)
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git
  • Ability to work effectively in both independent and collaborative settings, managing multiple priorities

Skills

  • Experience with software development standards such as RTCA DO-178
  • Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, and/or other scripting languages
  • Exposure to continuous integration, automated build/test, and hardware-in-the-loop systems
  • Understanding of FPGA development and HDL
  • Experience with RTOS and/or Linux-based embedded systems
  • Familiarity with controls engineering (sensors, actuators, and motors)

Pay

Colorado law requires us to disclose the base compensation range for this role: $125,000 - $155,000, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents) and eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
