About the role

TTM Technologies – Aerospace and Defense Sector is seeking Senior Embedded Software Engineers to support the Radar and Surveillance team in Farmingdale, New York. This position focuses on developing next-generation technologies in radar, surveillance, and communication systems. Candidates must have a background that permits the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) to issue a Secret Clearance, including U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and efficient embedded software systems using modern C++, embedded Linux (PetaLinux), and RTOS for safety-critical applications
• Support the design, development, test, debugging, and maintenance of software integrated into embedded systems to meet industry, customer, safety, and regulatory standards
• Develop software verification plans, test procedures, and test environments; execute test procedures and document results to ensure software system requirements are met
• Foster a continuous improvement culture
• Generate software requirement specifications based on system design specifications
• Develop top-level architecture and detailed designs for software components and systems
• Define and document interfaces between software components and systems
• Support systems verification and validation activities, including hardware/software integration, design verification testing, acceptance test procedures, and formal customer-witnessed testing
• Provide hardware resource utilization estimates and measurements
• Present at customer meetings such as Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, and Technical Interchange Meeting
• Generate schedule inputs for cost/schedule
• Comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR, and OFAC, including identifying ITAR products, managing foreign visitor access, following export requirements for shipments, and managing vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• 10+ years of related experience
• Extensive experience in modern C++ and Real-Time Operating Systems
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps (GitLab, Jenkins, Git Bash, Jira, and Artifactory is a plus)
• Experience in real-time embedded systems
• Experience in object-oriented design methodology
• Experience with the full software development life cycle
• Radar, surveillance, and communication system knowledge is a plus
• Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• U.S. citizenship required for Secret Clearance eligibility

Benefits are available on the 1st of the month following the date of hire. For some positions, only PTO and holiday benefits are offered.

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $122,655 - $215,704. Compensation varies based on skill sets, experience, training, certifications, and business needs.

Additional compensation may include an annual or quarterly company bonus based on position assignment. Positions hired for alternative shifts may be eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift and location.
