Senior Electronic Security Systems Technician

ITC Defense is seeking a senior-level technical professional to support the Child Youth Program (CYP) Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) and Life Cycle Support Contract. This role operates within a highly technical environment, focusing on complex electronic security, surveillance, and related engineering systems throughout their operational life cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, integration, testing, installation, modification, and sustainment of complex CCTV, IP video surveillance, electronic access control, and related electronic security systems supporting CYP facilities
  • Prepare and modify engineering designs, specifications, technical drawings, system documentation, test plans, and acceptance criteria for complex equipment and systems
  • Develop technical approaches to resolve complex design and system performance problems and recommend appropriate design techniques or system modifications
  • Resolve technical and design issues in coordination with Government personnel, contract personnel, vendors, and other stakeholders while ensuring compatibility with associated equipment and systems
  • Perform advanced system configuration, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and technical analysis involving video quality, network performance, storage, access control functionality, and overall system performance
  • Design and coordinate test configurations, experiments, and other technical evaluations to determine the feasibility and performance of preliminary or modified designs
  • Develop and apply appropriate measurement and testing techniques to evaluate and improve equipment and system performance
  • Plan and conduct technical experiments involving equipment or systems with complex or conflicting performance requirements or unusual combinations of technologies, techniques, or components
  • Coordinate the fabrication of pilot models, as applicable, and establish test procedures and requirements for specialized test equipment
  • Evaluate operational deficiencies and recommend equipment or system redesigns or modifications to address unique technical or performance issues
  • Independently plan and accomplish complete technical projects or studies of broad scope and complexity and provide specialized expertise within assigned engineering or electronic security disciplines
  • Plan and coordinate system installations, upgrades, pilot efforts, technology refreshes, and other lifecycle support activities to maintain system compatibility and performance
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, training, and, as required, supervision to lower-level technicians or other technical personnel
  • Review technical work products for quality, accuracy, and compliance with project objectives and applicable contract requirements
  • Travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations as required to support contract activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of contract requirements

Requirements

Candidates must meet one of the following education/training and experience combinations:

  • Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology, Mathematics, Science, or a related technical discipline and at least twelve (12) years of relevant practical experience; or
  • Formal electronics or communications training through an accredited technical school, Class A or Class B military school, or a four-year electronics apprenticeship program and at least twelve (12) years of relevant practical experience; or
  • High School Diploma or GED and at least fourteen (14) years of relevant practical experience

Relevant practical experience must include:

  • Experience in the design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents and technical drawings
  • Demonstrated experience performing advanced technical work involving complex equipment, electronic systems, engineering systems, or related technologies
  • Experience independently planning and accomplishing technical projects or studies of broad scope and complexity or serving as a technical expert within a specialized engineering discipline
  • Ability to analyze complex technical or design problems and develop appropriate solutions while considering system compatibility, performance, and operational requirements
  • Ability to travel up to 90% to CONUS and OCONUS locations in support of contract requirements

Qualifications

Required Certification:

  • Genetec Security Center 5.x Omnicast Technical Certification or higher

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting CCTV, IP video surveillance, electronic access control, or other electronic security systems in a Government or Department of Defense environment
  • Experience with complex system integration, configuration, troubleshooting, testing, and lifecycle sustainment
  • Experience planning or supporting system installations, upgrades, pilot programs, or technology refresh efforts
  • Experience developing test procedures, conducting technical evaluations, or working with specialized test equipment and instrumentation
  • Experience coordinating technical activities with Government customers, vendors, contractors, and other technical stakeholders
  • Previous experience providing technical leadership, mentoring, training, or supervision to technicians or other technical personnel
