Senior Electrical Systems Specialist
About the role
Your Role
Work with the Traction Power Systems team and other disciplines on Transit Electrical Systems and Traction Power Equipment public and private clients
Provide design packages that include plans, specifications, and cost estimates
Review the work of others in the team
Provide calculations to support designs
Support the implementation of these systems by providing field inspections, reviewing submittals, and responding to requests for information
Support the commissioning and testing of these systems
Research technologies to provide solutions to clients
Attend team and client meetings
Attend client site visits throughout New England
Responsibilities
- Work with the Traction Power Systems team and other disciplines on Transit Electrical Systems and Traction Power Equipment public and private clients
- Provide design packages that include plans, specifications, and cost estimates

Requirements
- Substantial professional years of experience in the design, installation, and/or commissioning of electrical systems, traction power systems, unit substation systems and equipment.
- Working knowledge of electrical transmission and distribution, transportation pump room systems, Bus and Vehicle Maintenance Facilities and AC and DC power networks
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Capable of working in a team environment, including giving and receiving critical feedback
- Strong and effective verbal and written communications skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Self-motivated, responsible, and accountable
- Able to communicate effectively with clients and owners, and able to respond in a timely manner to their requests and needs.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to transport self to sites on short notice
- Local to greater Boston MA
- Experience with some or all the following is a plus: Familiarity with NFPA 70 – The National Electric Code, Massachusetts Master Electrician License, Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician License, New Hampshire Master Electrician License, Maine Master Electrician License, Massachusetts Class A Commercial Driver's License
Qualifications

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $152,000.00 to $160,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
