About the Role

Develop power distribution solutions and safety circuitry for building systems (AC medium voltage to DC lower voltage).

  • Plan and execute the hardware development portion of multiple concurrent instrument projects, from concept through production release.
  • Communicate progress at appropriate levels of abstraction.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to develop architectures, systems design, and specifications for new products.
  • Engage with customers during projects to ensure alignment.
  • Ensure products meet requirements and are delivered on schedule.
  • Mentor other engineers.
  • Collaborate with other engineers on design and purchasing materials.
  • Work with technicians and field engineers to assist system startup.
  • Design and review SOLIDWORKS electrical drawings.
  • Conduct market research and product evaluations when selecting components.
  • Develop and execute based on project budgets and timelines.
  • Work with the safety team to review safety designs and certifications before releasing to production.
  • Write reports and present findings.
  • Achieve business results and company goals.
  • Work with external suppliers to meet schedule.
  • Design cable harnesses for the system to work as intended.
  • Select appropriate hardware to meet safety and system requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum B.S. in Electrical Engineering with at least 6+ years of experience in system design or M.S. and 4+ years.
  • Experience in developing system manufacturing and testing equipment.
  • Takes initiative, self-motivated, and drives to design, engineer, analyze, and test medium complexity systems, subsystems, and parts.
  • Communication skills for effective influence with customers, internal teammates, and suppliers worldwide.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes (Semi S2 and S8, NFPA, NEC).
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Previous automation experience.
  • Understand networks, subnets, and IP assignment.

Pay

The base salary range for this role is $111,300 to $178,200. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
