About the role
The power generation market is experiencing significant growth driven by strong capacity demand signals. Our national Power Generation team is poised for substantial expansion. We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support our clients in developing, contracting, and implementing natural gas and potentially renewable energy generation projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead teams for power generation design projects, including supporting in a traditional Owner’s Engineering role.
- Design experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation.
- Previous experience with an engineering power consulting or EPC firm.
- Mentor young engineers and support in managing client relationships.
- Lead marketing activities including proposal technical writing, fee builds, and work breakdown structure development in response to requests for proposals.
- Direct the activities of other engineering professionals and act as a mentor to other staff members as needed.
- Manage project reviews with management as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program with an Electrical Power emphasis.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Systems Engineering with an Electrical Power emphasis.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in electrical power generation design.
- Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience.
- Professional Engineers (PE or P.Eng) license.
- Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.

Skills
- Experience with power generation and distribution, protection and motor control design, power system studies, construction and equipment specification development, and balance of plant designs such as raceway, lighting, and grounding systems.
- Excellent communication, written, and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently, as a lead on a multi-discipline consulting team, or as a lead on a small team.
- Extensive knowledge of three-phase electrical power, protection and control design and settings development, system grounding, physical design, and experience with other activities such as lighting and grounding design, including instrumentation and control and life safety systems.

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
