Senior Electrical Field Test Engineer

About the role

EPC Services Company, a leading power/utility engineering consultant and construction firm, is seeking a Senior Level - Electrical Field Test Engineer for their Salem, OR office.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and maintenance on medium and high voltage systems
• Provide setting and testing protective relays and functional verification of control, protection, and alarm circuits
• Read and understand technical documentation and users' manuals
• Be familiar with IEEE standards and ANSI/IEEE system device function numbers
• Understand and interpret test results using Doble, Fluke and other test equipment
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of substation physical drawings, equipment wiring diagrams, and substation control schematics
• Explain all aspects of substation protection philosophy, feeder protection, breaker failure protection, bus protection, power transformer protection, cap bank protection, distance protection

Requirements

• BSEE, BSME, or BSEEET degree
• Minimum 5 years' experience
• Ability to obtain NICET Level III certification
• Strong understanding of safe work practices
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of test equipment
• Driving ability to be insured to drive company vehicles

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of substation physical drawings, equipment wiring diagrams, and substation control schematics
• Familiarity with substation protection philosophy, feeder protection, breaker failure protection, bus protection, power transformer protection, cap bank protection, distance protection

Skills

• Understanding of Doble, Fluke and other test equipment operation
• Knowledge of NETA Acceptance Testing Specification (ATS)
• Knowledge of NETA Maintenance Testing Specification (MTS)

Salary commensurate with experience and education.
