The Senior Electrical Field Engineer is responsible for applying diversified knowledge of engineering and construction in broad areas of assignments and related fields. This role will be based onsite in Mojave, California, with occasional travel to ISG’s Cleveland, Ohio office throughout the year. Work requires the use of advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts, and practices of specialized fields, related sciences, and/or disciplines. Involves coordinating the work of design engineers and construction teams. Essential Duties Will interface with clients, construction contractors, electricians, construction managers, and other site engineeringMay interface with vendors and equipment manufacturers for delivery schedules and installation requirementsTracks construction progress and answers field questions about designFamiliar with other disciplines related to substation constructionReviews work of the project design teamPerforms field measurements independentlyWorks with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to the building code is requiredAssumes responsibility for engineering field changes and answering questionsCoordinates work of his/her discipline with other disciplinesMay be asked to make recommendation and/or decisions on unusual or complicated issuesMay prepare or review construction budgetsPerforms and directs construction support/management on large/complex projectsMay direct construction observation of othersMay assist in the education and development of design staff and acts as a resource for design/construction questions Skills, Knowledge and Expertise 8+ years of previous consulting or facilities engineering/design experience required with minimum of 2+ years of onsite construction experienceValid Drivers’ License requiredMust have knowledge of applicable building codes, National Electrical Code, and National Electric Safety CodeMust keep current on the “state of the art” in their construction specialty through review of periodicals and continuing educationComfortable and experienced in coordinating with power providers and utilitiesStrong knowledge in power equipment and substations systemsFamiliar with overhead transmission and distribution constructionSolid understanding of project management fundamentals, scheduling, and constructabilityProficient in the use of computer for design and understand Autodesk (Revit, Navisworks) operationsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other agencies, and the clientIntegrity, sense of responsibility, independent judgmentAbility to delegate tasks and dutiesAbility to communicate effectively, verbally and in writingProficient in the PC/windows environment with experience in e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, etc ISG Employee Owner Benefits Medical, dental, and visionPaid time off, pro-rated amount available on your start datePaid holidays and paid volunteer timePaid parental leaveBi-annual profit sharingEmployee Ownership Stock Plan (ESOP)401K retirement planLife insuranceHSA and FSA optionsBereavement leaveSupplemental voluntary benefitsShort term and long-term disabilityParking reimbursement, varies on office location
