About the role

As a Senior Electrical Estimator, you will complete advanced electrical estimating responsibilities with periodic team supervision on a per-estimate basis as assigned by the Estimating Manager. You will manage direct reports on specific, assigned projects and develop cost estimates from take-off to bid hand-off.

Responsibilities

  • Perform site inspections to determine labor and material needs
  • Analyze material, labor requirements, and general conditions to complete projects
  • Attend pre-bid and scope review meetings
  • Lead and direct the flow of information for bid reviews
  • Compute and submit bids
  • Interpret specifications and blueprints to determine design intent
  • Coordinate with engineers, customers, vendors, and Project Managers
  • Manage quotation process with vendors
  • Determine equipment needs
  • Produce ROM and budgetary estimates
  • Maintain up-to-date information in Opportunity Tracker
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering or technical training in a related field, preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of electrical construction experience
  • 5 years of electrical estimating experience, preferred
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Low Voltage Systems
  • Direct experience in estimating software (Accubid Enterprise preferred)
  • Ability to read and evaluate specifications and blueprints
  • Proficiency in computer-based take-offs and estimating technology (e.g., Bluebeam, LiveCount, BIM models)
  • Adherence to Estimating department standards
  • Ability to assess and quantify risks based on opportunity type
  • Experience estimating projects from $100k to $100M+
  • Strong collaboration skills for complex estimates with team members
  • Effective communication with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to maintain composure under deadlines and external pressure
  • Analytical skills to assess project risks
  • Confidence in discussing and developing budgets based on estimated opportunities
  • Ability to prioritize multiple bid jobs
  • Effective supervisory skills as directed
  • Comfortable working within a transparent work environment
  • Strong computer skills

  • Ability to travel to various work locations as required
  • Ability to work indoors and/or outdoors in varying environmental conditions
  • Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance

Travel Requirements

  • Visit jobsites on an as-needed basis (primarily local during the business day)
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required
