About the role

The Senior Electrical Engineer candidate should have experience within the utility scale power and renewable energy industry and be capable of leading teams for power generation design projects including supporting in a traditional Owner’s Engineering role.

Responsibilities

  • Leading teams for power generation design projects
  • Supporting in a traditional Owner’s Engineering role
  • Mentoring young engineers
  • Supporting in managing client relationships
  • Leading marketing activities including proposal technical writing, fee builds, and work breakdown structure development in response to requests for proposals

Requirements

  • A significant level of design and engineer of record work experience with power plant systems is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience.
  • Absolutely requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Systems Engineering with an Electrical Power emphasis preferred.
  • 15+ years’ experience in electrical power generation and renewable energy design.
  • Field experience, including startup and commissioning, experience.
  • Experience in renewable energy (PV, BESS, etc.) and DER or “microgrid” projects is highly desired.
  • Previous experience with an engineering power consulting firm desired.
  • Willingness to grow into a team lead or section manager role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently, as a lead on a multi-discipline consulting team, or as a lead on a small team are required.
  • Extensive knowledge of three-phase electrical power, protection and control design and settings development, system grounding, physical design, and experience with other activities such as lighting and grounding design, including instrumentation and control and life safety systems.
  • Instrumentation and Controls experience particularly with DCS and PLC systems is a plus.

Skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest and experience in the exciting market of renewables and battery energy storage systems (BESS).

Benefits

Position will include an expectation of less than 10% travel for meetings with clients and vendors as well as project site visits.

Pay

Salary range: $120,000 - $150,000 per year
